George Best Belfast City Airport
This regional airport serves a range of destinations, mainly
in Great Britain and Ireland. Situated on the south shore of Belfast Lough
and adjacent to the A2,only a few
minutes drive from Belfast city centre, the airport currently caters for over
2.5 million passengers per year, representing approximately 40% of the
scheduled domestic air traffic to and from Northern Ireland.
The airport first opened as a commercial airport in 1938 and was launched as
the Harbour Airport for commercial traffic in 1983. In 2008 the
airport celebrated its 25th anniversary in business and its proud association
with the local community. Today, their primary market is the short haul
scheduled services and their core catchment area accounts for 54% of the
Northern Ireland population and their business passengers account for 65% of their

Belfast Int Airport
The airport was first opened as an RAF base in 1917 and remained an RAF base until 1963 when the first commercial passenger landed from Manchester. As the years with by the Airport became more popular and eventually in 2007 Aer Lingus open their first base outside the republic of Ireland here. Now the Airport is carrying almost 5 million passengers annually totalling to 60% of all passengers travelling to and from Northern Ireland. For more information on this airport click here
